Measure — AI Readiness
Readiness scoring, page citability, the evidence model, and GA4-connected Impact metrics.
What Measure Covers
Measure answers the question "did it work?" After you run improvement guides in Improve, it tracks how your site's technical readiness changed, how per-page citability moved, and whether any of it converted into real traffic and revenue.
Improve vs. Measure
Improve tells you what to fix; Measure tells you whether the fix landed. Action items in Improve don't move scores directly — AEKO has to re-crawl the page and wait for AI responses to refresh before changes show up here.
Two pages
- Readiness: Site- and page-level AEO readiness — technical checks + citability
- Impact (Discovery): GA4-connected measurement of AI traffic and revenue
The AI Readiness Score
The readiness score is a 0–100 measure of how well your site's technical foundation supports AI engine visibility. It's different from the visibility score (actual mention frequency) — readiness is a leading indicator. Strong technical foundation enables high visibility downstream.
| Check | What it inspects |
|---|---|
| llms.txt | Does it exist and point to your key pages? |
| robots.txt | Are AI crawlers (GPTBot, Google-Extended, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot) allowed? |
| JSON-LD | Product, Organization, FAQ, BreadcrumbList — presence and validity |
| Canonical | Duplicate URLs collapsed to a canonical? |
| Sitemap | XML sitemap exists and was recently updated? |
| Open Graph / Meta | title, description, og tags filled completely? |
Scores refresh automatically on AEKO's regular crawl cycle (daily or every 3 days depending on plan).
Page Citability
Citability is a score for how likely a specific page is to be cited in an AI answer. AEKO records every URL actually cited in tracked-prompt responses, then analyzes the content of those URLs along these dimensions.
Evaluation factors
- Structured answerability (FAQ, lists, clear headings)
- Unique information density (specs, pricing, stock, reviews — citable facts)
- Citation friendliness (quotable stats, source attribution, publication dates)
- JSON-LD consistency (structured data matches the visible content)
- Recent update activity (freshness)
High confidence
Likely to be cited directly in AI answer bodies.
Medium
In the candidate set but citation is inconsistent. One or two targeted patches usually push it to High.
Low
Current content structure isn't citable. Prioritize PDP improvement guides for this page.
Readiness Page Views
Tabs across the top show the same data from different angles.
| View | When to use |
|---|---|
| Overview | Site score, average citability, recent deltas — your daily glance |
| All Pages | All tracked pages, sortable and searchable by score or delta |
| Top Improved | Pages that moved up the most — learn what worked |
| Top Declined | Pages that regressed — intervene now |
| Events | Full change timeline (see below) |
Evidence Model
AEKO records "when the page changed" and "when an AI started citing the change" as separate events. Reading the gap between them is the only reliable way to judge whether a fix worked.
| Event | When it's emitted |
|---|---|
| content_change_detected | Crawl finds the page HTML changed in a meaningful way |
| technical_fix_verified | A technical action's patch is confirmed live (e.g., new robots.txt observed) |
| citability_improved | Page citability score rose past a threshold |
| readiness_regression | Score dropped past a threshold — alert candidate |
Reading the gap
If you see content_change_detected but no citability_improved follows in a few days, the page changed but the change didn't move citability. Revisit the guide.
Impact (Discovery) Page
If Readiness asks "is AI ready to find us?", Impact asks "did AI-sourced visitors actually convert?" Connect a GA4 property and AEKO measures sessions, orders, and revenue from AI platforms (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, etc.).
What you see
- Platform ranking: sort by sessions, orders, or revenue
- Country metrics: where AI traffic is concentrated
- Landing page metrics: which pages absorb AI traffic best
- Date range comparison: before/after via the date picker
Connecting GA4
Go to Settings → Integrations → GA4 to connect your property. AEKO identifies AI traffic by referrer domain (chatgpt.com, perplexity.ai, etc.) — no separate UTM is required.
Using the Data
A weekly review cadence
- Monday — Readiness Overview: site score + regression check
- Tuesday — Send Top Declined pages to Improve → generate actions
- Wednesday — Events timeline: did last week's patches register in citability?
- Friday — Impact: week-over-week AI revenue trend (CSV/PDF export available)
Important — measurement limits
GA4 attribution only works for traffic that preserves the referrer. Clients like the ChatGPT mobile app strip referrers and land as "direct," so they don't show up under AI revenue. AEKO compensates where it can, but read trends rather than absolute values.
