Measure — Site & Ad Performance

GA4-connected Site Performance, Ad Performance, technical readiness checks, and page citability.

How Measure Is Organized

Measure is where you confirm whether the work you did in Optimize turned into real outcomes. It has two pages.

  • Site Performance: connect GA4 to measure sessions, orders, and revenue from AI platforms
  • Ad Performance (Pro and above): impressions, clicks, and spend for your OpenAI ad campaigns

* The former "Impact (Discovery)" page was renamed to "Site Performance." Old links redirect automatically.

Site Performance and GA4

Even without GA4, the Site Performance page shows the citation trend — weekly counts of your brand being cited and mentioned across tracked prompts. Connecting GA4 unlocks the revenue-attribution view.

Connecting GA4

  • Click Connect in the banner at the top of Site Performance → authenticate with Google
  • After connecting, click Load properties → pick your GA4 property → Select property
  • Selecting a property immediately starts an initial sync of the last 90 days
  • Afterwards, use Refresh data for manual updates (throttled to once per 5 minutes)

Once connected you get: Total AI-Referred Sessions · Total Orders · Total Revenue summary tiles, a daily timeline, per-AI-platform session/order/revenue breakdowns, per-country breakdowns, and AI-referred landing pages with conversion rates. See which AI platforms actually convert and which pages absorb the traffic best.

How measurement works — and its limits

AI referrals are detected from referrer headers (no UTM tagging needed). One caveat: the mobile ChatGPT app strips the referrer, so that traffic can show up as direct. When citations rise but no AI referrals register, the page shows an attribution-gap note.

* Disconnecting GA4 only stops new data collection. Historical metrics are kept, and reconnecting resumes where you left off.

Ad Performance Pro and above

Collects the results of your OpenAI ad campaigns: four cards up top (ad account · product feed · clicks/CTR · spend/impressions), a daily performance table for the last 30 days, and a per-product breakdown ranked by clicks. The window is fixed to the trailing 30 days, with a Refresh button for updates.

AI Readiness and Page Citability

Two signals underpin your results: the technical checkup and page citability.

Technical checks (Optimize → Technical Checkup)

  • Search-bot crawlability (measured against Googlebot)
  • Indexability — a noindex directive blocks everything else
  • Snippet eligibility (nosnippet and similar restrictions)
  • AI-crawler access (GPTBot, Google-Extended, and others)
  • Structured data (JSON-LD) — optional, bonus when present
  • llms.txt — optional, never flagged as a warning

Page citability

Each page gets a citability score — how quotable it is for AI engines — tracked with its delta over time. You can see top improved and top declined pages plus the full page list, and low-scoring pages flow into improvement work under Optimize → Content Optimization.

Change events

AEKO records events when a content change is detected on your site and when a technical fix is verified. Recent events appear on the Site Performance page, so you can line up what you changed with when your numbers moved.
